Installation and Configuration

At NetQoS, our professional services experts take a straightforward approach to the installation and configuration of NetQoS products:

• Implementation Strategy Session: Working with you to assess your environment and needs, we outline the scope of services to be provided
• Installation Roadmap: Based on your goals, NetQoS develops an installation roadmap for the NetQoS Performance Center and the products you have licensed
• Deployment Strategy: To optimize performance and maximize visibility, we identify the best location within the network for each NetQoS product appliance
• Product Configuration: After deploying the NetQoS Performance Center and product modules, we assist you in their configuration

This systematic approach delivers valuable information to you while putting minimal burden your IT staff. Before we leave your site, we confirm that your NetQoS solution is operating according to your expectations in order to provide the data you need to manage the performance of your network.

The Installation and Configuration service for each product consists of:

• One-hour strategy call to outline goals and deliverables
• A two to four hour conference to plan for installation and to collect information such as network subnets, IP addresses, port numbers and other elements necessary for performing advanced configuration
• One-day meeting on-site to complete configuration

NetQoS SuperAgent^® Installation and Configuration

The NetQoS SuperAgent Installation and Configuration service focuses on enhancing your ability to quickly resolve performance issues and manage service levels by providing:

• Education: Our consultants review how to define networks, servers, and applications within SuperAgent and advise on the proper use of SuperAgent for reporting
• Architecture Review: We conduct a review of your network architecture and identify strategic monitoring points for proper implementation of SuperAgent reporting capabilities
• Documentation: We document the addresses of each of your servers running SuperAgent
• Discovery: We guide you through discovery of the components needed to configure SuperAgent, including critical server IP Addresses, application port numbers, application tiers, application tier interactions, network subnets, and network interactions with each of the application servers and application tiers
• Configuration: We configure SuperAgent for each of your servers and perform advanced configuration as needed

NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer™ Installation and Configuration

The NetQoS ReporterAnalyzer Installation and Configuration service focuses on configuring the product to optimize troubleshooting, capacity planning, and traffic analysis for your network. We provide:

• Architecture Review: Our consultants review your network architecture, identify strategic monitoring points for proper implementation of ReporterAnalyzer reporting capabilities, and research key applications that require special configuration for optimal visibility and analysis
• Documentation: We document the addresses of each server running ReporterAnalyzer
• NetFlow Check: We recommend where and how to properly enable NetFlow on routers and switches for maximum visibility and ensure that the IP address given to the NetFlow Manager have the necessary SNMP access to poll each reporting device
• Configuration: We configure ReporterAnalyzer on-site with your team and perform advanced configuration as needed

NetQoS NetVoyant^® Installation and Configuration

In order to enable NetQoS NetVoyant to deliver the SNMP-based performance metrics required to manage your network infrastructure, devices, and services, our consultants work with your staff to provide:

• Education: Our consultants review the process for discovery of device status, utilization, and data interpretation
• Architecture Review: We review your current network architecture to determine the key network elements to monitor via SNMP
• Documentation: We record and document the addresses of each server running NetVoyant 
• Discovery: We identify the MIBs required for monitoring key network elements, identify the key OIDs within the MIBs to monitor, define various thresholds and the traps, alarms and events that are triggered when thresholds are exceeded, and we set up custom reporting
• Configuration: We configure NetVoyant on-site with your team and perform advanced configuration as needed (adding network scopes, SNMP community strings, SNMP gateways, compiling any custom MIBs, and configuring NetVoyant to monitor appropriate parameters within a MIB)
